Sebastian Vettel dominates season finale in Brazil

Sebastian Vettel wins the Brazilian Grand Prix, making his 13th win of the season and a record 9th straight in a season.

Vettel signed off the V8 era with complete domination since the summer break winning all the 9 races in a clean weep with his RedBull.

At the start it was the Mercedes boys with Rosberg stealing the lead from Vettel into C1 and Hamilton getting ahead of Webber and Alonso with an awesome start. Alonso too had a great start but was blocked Vettel which let the Mercedes drivers to gain advantage. By the end of Lap 1 Vettel attacked Rosberg and took the lead into C1 while Hamilton was overtaken by Alonso and moments later by Webber.

The Mercedes was visibly lacking straight line speed and were like sitting ducks in the straights with Alonso and Webber getting ahead of Rosberg while Grosjean´s race came to an end with a blown engine on Lap 3.

Vettel was clearly pulling away in the front leaving Alonso and Webber to battle behind while Rosberg dropped further down.

Webber passed Alonso for 2nd position but the Ferrari man got the better of the RedBull in the pitstops to get back into 2nd but Webber cleanly retook the position immediately.

Massa on his last Ferrari drive and at home was fighting for fourth with Hamilton until he was penalized with a drive through for cutting the white line in pit entry which made the Brazilian driver furious. He joined in 8th behind Perez after the penalty,

Lewis Hamilton after his second pit stop got in a collision when Bottas of Williams tried to unlap the Mercedes by overtaking on the outside as Hamilton slightly moved to the left which resulted with both cars touching and incurring punctures. Bottas slid into the grass for instant retirement with the left rear tyre tearing apart while Hamilton pitted for fresh tyres but was soon penalized with a drive through for causing a collision.

From there on Vettel pulled out again from 5.5secs to 10secs over team mate as the much expected rain playing hide and seek till the chequered flag.

Vettel crossed the line for his 13th victory of the season 10secs ahead of team mate Webber who finished 2nd on his final F1 race. Alonso ended the season on a high with a podium while Jenson Button claimed 4th, the highest for McLaren this season with Rosberg in 5th and Perez in the 6th. Massa ended his Ferrari career with a 7th in his home turf ahead of Hulkenberg in 8th. Lewis Hamilton recovered well to grab few points by finishing 9th ahead of future RedBull driver Ricciardo in 10th.
